How Ephedra/Ma-Huang interacts with Oral and inhaled anti-asthmatic medications

Studies report that ephedra may act in the body like some of these medications, which may alter the effects of these medications and possibly the dose needed for treatment. Use with caution.(1), (1)
These drugs include albuterol, levalbuterol, salmeterol, terbutaline, ephedrine, epinephrine, formoterol fumarate, bitolterol mesylate, isoetharine, metaproterenol, pirbuterol, theophylline, aminophylline, oxtriphylline, dyphylline, ipratropium, zafirlukast, montelukast, zileuton, cromolyn sodium, nedocromil sodium, beclomethasone dipropionate, triamcinolone acetonide, flunisolide, budesonide, fluticasone propionate, mometasone furoate monohydrate.
